OUR MISSION

To help others experience the Power of God’s Unconditional Love, the Purpose of the Redemptive Work of Christ, and the Promise of His Word!

OUR VISION

A church where 1,000 souls will receive salvation in Jesus Christ and connect with the True Vine family becoming equipped morally, domestically, socially, economically and spiritually.

OUR LEGACY

On August 24, 1975, in Lakewood, WA, the doors of True Vine Community Church of God in Christ officially opened to the community under the leadership of Reverend Leo C. Brown Jr. In March of 1976, the property and edifice at 5715 North 33rd Street became True Vine’s newest and most current tabernacle of worship.

With a fervent desire for everyone to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, Pastor Brown embarked on a journey that would transform lives and communities forever. The church’s guiding vision, encapsulated by the scripture, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18), became the catalyst for countless outreach initiatives.

As the rich history of the church is reflected upon, it is essential to honor the remarkable journey of the Founder and former First Lady. On March 23, 2011, Missionary Barbara Jean Brown went home to be with the Lord. Later, on January 19, 2021, God, who is omnipotent and omniscient, summoned His servant, Bishop Leo Charles Brown Jr., to eternal rest.

OUR PASTOR

Pastor Ronelle C. Jones is the sixth of seven children born to Pastor Robert E. Jones, Sr., and his late wife, Missionary Debbie Renee’ Jones. Their devout home centered on love, family, and a spiritual community of people from all walks of life. The exposure to this diverse community enabled Pastor Jones to learn the importance of effective communication to help deliver the Word of God, especially when working with multi-generational congregations. His father and mentor taught him the importance of firm beliefs and clear vision while his mother, the Evangelist, invoked passion for the ministry. From his grandparents, he was raised with compassion and grace, giving rise to what Pastor Jones’ true gift is: his ability to build bridges between disparate groups through innovative leadership, exceptional capacity to listen and with a moral and ethical foundation built on biblical principles.

At the age of 17, Pastor Jones was filled with the Holy Ghost at True Vine Community Church of God in Christ. He answered his call to ministry at 18, became a licensed minister at 19, and preached his first sermon, “Fulfill the Purpose in You,” at his home church, Lively Hope Church of God in Christ. His dedication to ministry led him to serve in various leadership roles, including Supervisor of Ministries in 2010, where he organized and hosted annual leadership conferences. By 2012, he was ordained as an Elder and soon after accepted a full-time role as Youth Pastor at Greater Community Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Brandon B. Porter. From 2012 to 2015, he served as the Vice President of the Tennessee Central Jurisdiction Youth Department and was later promoted to President in 2016.

After seven years of ministry in Memphis, Pastor Jones was called back to Washington State in 2019, continuing his commitment to serving God’s people. On August 24, 2021, he was appointed Pastor of True Vine Community COGIC by Bishop Jerry W. Macklin (Interim Bishop of Washington State at the time), carrying forward the ministry founded by his grandfather, the late Bishop Leo C. Brown Jr. He remains dedicated to honoring the church’s legacy while advancing its mission through Christ-centered teaching, outreach, and innovation.

Pastor Jones’ influence extends beyond the local church. He currently serves as Assistant Superintendent of the Puget Sound District, Chairman of the Washington State Jurisdiction Pastors and Elders Council, and Vice President of the International Youth Department of the Church of God in Christ. These leadership roles allow him to further his impact on ministry at the district, state, and national levels.

With a heart for people and a divine calling to lead, Pastor Jones continues to inspire change-makers, future leaders, and believers from all walks of life. His wisdom, fresh perspective, and unwavering faith serve as a guiding light in an ever-changing world.

Pastor Jones resides in Washington State with his loving wife, Lady DraVonne Jones, and their two beautiful daughters, Sister Gabrielle Jones and Sister Gianna Jones.
